Cathy Ward - a portrait arist

Welcome

Cathy Ward lives on the Texas ranch that has been her family's home for five generations. She has a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Austin as well as Bachelor of Arts in Art Education.

Teaching art in the public and private school systems of Texas for the earlier part of her career, Cathy now works on the ranch drawing and painting Texas one portrait at a time.

"Christy: Policymaker" won first place in the Houston Civic Arts Association Show in November 2009.

"Allee in the Tree" won second place in the Houston Civic Arts Association Show in November 2009

"Grover Cleveland" was juried into the 16th International CPSA Show in Seattle, Washington. The show will run through September 29,2008 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center.

"Melissa" received an honorable mention award in Ann Kullberg's FMP 2008 annual show.

"Christy" was featured on the cover of Ann Kullberg's 2008 June issue of FMP.

"Maribou" was juried into the First National Show at Morton Street Gallery in Richmond, Texas.

"Christy" juried into the 15th International Colored Pencil Society of America. Signature Status was awarded at the Strathmore Gallery in Washington, D.C.

"Social Reconstruction" was juried into the 14th International Colored Pencil Society of America in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

"The Intern" was juried into the 13th International Colored Pencil Society of America in Chicago, Illinois.

"Portrait Drawings from Texas" a collection of recent drawings is now available.
